"Antoni Miró" Esmolador "
Antoni Miró "Esmolet" The theme refers to the old trade of "esmolador" already disappeared in our city.
Antoni Miró was born in Alcoi on September 1, 1944. He has dedicated his life to his great love, painting, and parallel activities such as sculptural, poster, sculpture and ceramics. The greatest dedication has been painting since 1966. In the last years of the Franco regime and, due to the lack of freedom, Miró designed several series of expressionist influence, such as "Las Desnudas", "El Hambre", "Los Locos", etc. . Miró would establish the bases of his later works, from visual experimentation in the field of pop-art and social realism. The painter has always made compatible the intentionality of social content and the search for a new imaginary product of a visual relief. The resulting work is situated within the expressive framework of so-called social realism; starting from the daily environment or the historical narrative. The interest for his work grows more and more. A figure that is consolidated as a reference of our culture and our identity.
