José Peris Arago (Alboraia, August 21, 1907 - Alboraia, November 9, 2003) poster artist and painter Spanish

He studied at the School of Arts and Crafts and Fine Arts of San Carlos de Valencia; Renau and Segrelles partner within the generation that would later be called "Valencian artistic renewal of the 30s". With 25 years he made his first solo exhibition at the Ateneo Mercantil de Valencia. He participated in the Valencian Regional Exhibition of 1934 and the outbreak of the Spanish Civil War joined the Alliance of Antifascist Intellectuals actively participating in the production of posters, including the famous "! not pass said Madrid and fulfilled.! No Valencia says it will take, and make it good! "; It is finally destined to Section II of Education and Mobilization Albaida.

Finished the Spanish Civil War, he was hired by film producer Cifesa for which he designed over 500 posters between 1945 and 1965; Including those dedicated to films like The gitanilla, or La Lola is going to ports, which would reach subsequent samples analyzed important as the Mostra de Cinema del Mediterrani in 2002.2 From the 1950s he devoted himself to painting. In 1993, the Fine Arts in Valencia was awarded the Gold Medal for artistic merit of the institution. Part of his work is in the National Museum of Ceramics González Martí. In his home town has a cultural center that bears his name.
