19th century French school ‘Garde Impériale’

Genre scene set in a rural courtyard where a group of French soldiers, dressed in blue uniforms of the Second Empire, receive a blessing from a priest before departing. Of particular note are the musicians with drums and dress shakos, typical of the French infantry.
