Amulet “Small agate Dzi”, Tang Dynasty

Cylindrical bead type Dzi (གཟི།), carved in dark base agate with white design forming an abstract motif on both sides. The surface has bright polishing and fine craquelure characteristic of the natural aging of the stone. Mounted on modern thread. Amulet traditionally used as a protective talisman. Tang Dynasty (618-907) or later.
