Carved jade pendant ‘Cicada’, Liangzhu culture

Archaic jade amulet carved in the shape of a cicada. The piece, which is a deep reddish colour, displays the geometric stylization characteristic of Neolithic art. The insect's features are defined by fine incised lines. It has a hole for hanging.
