Carved jade seal ‘Elephant’, Ming dynasty

Greyish-brown jade seal with a patina of use, crowned by the figure of a reclining elephant, worked in compact and gently incised forms that mark the folds, trunk and back. The oval-shaped base features a carved seal with five characters ‘天地一家春’ in low relief.
