Chinese lacquered wooden game box, late 19th century

Black lacquered wood with gold decoration, depicting court figures alternating with landscape scenes within cartouches on the sides. The lid features a central panel with floral motifs and dragons. It rests on four legs carved in the shape of zoomorphic heads. The interior, with three removable compartments, contains trays decorated with emblems and auspicious utensils.
