Chinese painting ‘Birds on snowy branches’, signed Lü Ji

Pigments and ink on silk, framed in brocade silk. The scene depicts a willow tree with curved branches covered in snow, on which two dark-feathered birds are perched. At the bottom, camellias in bloom with red petals are arranged. On the right is the inscription ‘四明吕纪’, next to a red seal ‘吕纪之印’ (Lü Ji, 1465-1505).
