Chinese painting ‘Insects and Calligraphy’, signed Jiang Hanting

Made with ink and coloured pigments on paper, it is a horizontal scroll depicting multiple insects, such as butterflies, grasshoppers and dragonflies, in the style of Jiang Hanting (1903-1963). On the left is a poem with the inscription ‘辛卯十月寒汀作于海上获舫’, accompanied by two red seals ‘江寒汀’ and ‘江荻’. On the far right, the calligraphy “妙化天然” appears next to the inscription ‘徐邦达’ and two seals. The outside of the protective case reads ‘Jiang Hanting Grasshopper Painting Scroll’.
