Chinese painting ‘Wise Man with Camel’, signed Luo Ping

Painting executed in ink and pigments on silk, mounted in a brocade silk frame. It depicts a sage dressed in a red tunic leading a two-humped camel in a landscape of stylised mountains. The upper left corner bears the inscription ‘甲申二月七日为守堂先生作 ’, followed by a red seal reading ‘罗聘’. Luo Ping (1733-1799).
