Circular amber bead, Tibet, Qing dynasty

Natural amber pendant, carved and polished into an irregular disc shape. The piece has an attractive, opaque, uniform yellow colour, with some inclusions and darker veins characteristic of the material. It has a central hole through which a cord is threaded to form a pendant.
