Danping vase with blue and red-glazed ‘Dragon among waves and clouds’, with Qianlong seal

A porcelain vase of danping form, with a globular body and a long cylindrical neck. The surface of the vase is decorated with a continuous scene of a red enamelled dragon, which meanders between stylized cobalt-blue waves in pursuit of flaming pearls, on a white background. At the top of the neck are blue clouds in which small red bats flutter around the scene. The base has a six-character seal “大清乾隆年制”.
