Gilt bronze figure "Dzambhala", Qing Dynasty
A small figure cast in yellow gilt bronze, representing Dzambhala (Jambhala), the deity of wealth in Tibetan Buddhism. He is shown seated in the lalitasana position on a double lotus base, with his right leg hanging slightly forward. His corpulent build, with a prominent belly and serene expression, symbolizes abundance. He wears a crown of five skulls, necklaces, bracelets, and earrings, typical attributes of his iconography. In his left hand, he holds a small animal, and his right hand rests on his knee in a gesture of generosity, holding a large pearl. His updo, decorated with traces of blue pigment, accentuates his tantric character. The sculpture shows great detail in the folds of his robe and body ornaments.
