Gilt bronze "Shakyamuni" figure, 20th century

Gilt bronze sculpture depicting Buddha Shakyamuni seated in a meditation posture (padmasana) on a double lotus base. His right hand performs the bhūmisparśa mudrā gesture, touching the earth as a witness to enlightenment, while his left hand rests in his lap holding a ritual bowl crowned by three leaves. His serene face is framed by curly hair, a frontal urn, and ushnisha, and he wears monastic attire richly decorated with incised motifs. Tibetan style.
