Hetian jade seal ‘Mandarin Duck’, Qing dynasty

Seal carved from yellowish Hetian jade with slight ochre inclusions. It is rectangular, crowned by a relief figure of a reclining mandarin duck, worked with simplicity and softness. The base is inscribed with the characters ‘抱神以静’.
