Iron-red enamelled porcelain plate ‘Garden Scene’, with Yongle mark

A flat porcelain dish with a circular body, decorated with enamel on an iron-red glaze. The centre of the dish depicts a scene in a beautiful garden with various figures seated under a large tree reading writings. The scene is framed by two borders that adorn the rim, filled with floral motifs and geometric elements. The reverse shows four rouleaux of branches and a central four-character mark ‘永乐年治’.
