Jade belt ornament ‘Birds’, Han style

Carved jade with a reddish-amber patina. It is rectangular, with a front face decorated with reliefs of birds with wings next to the body, long tails, thin necks and elongated beaks along with archaic incised patterns. The undecorated back is designed to have a belt running across it.
