Rectangular glazed porcelain censer ‘Fénix’, with Xuande seal

A porcelain censer with a rectangular body with gently curved edges, supported on four legs in the form of arched supports. The piece is richly decorated in underglaze blue, with the main panels featuring symmetrical scenes of phoenixes amidst stylized clouds, framed by lobed cartouches. At the top, a border of stylized flowers runs around the rim. The interior of the censer is glazed and has a visible crack running through the base. The seal “大明宣德年制” is inscribed on one side, below the floral border.
