内容描述.

A set of eleven rectangular jade slabs of greyish-white jade with honey-coloured or brownish inclusions. The obverse side has finely executed reliefs of playful figures, each holding different symbolic objects such as lotus branches, flowers, flutes or vases, all associated with good omens and longevity. The back of each plaque shows symmetrically distributed circular holes, intended for sewing or attaching to the textile structure of the belt. The sculptural work is meticulous and polished, with delicate lines and smooth volume. Qing Dynasty (1644-1912) or later.

These body ornaments have a significance primarily associated with longevity and good omens. In Chinese tradition, jade was attributed with the ability to preserve the body, prolong earthly life and even confer special virtues. Jade has occupied a central place in Chinese culture since ancient times, being considered one of its most precious commodities. White nephrite, in particular, is prized for its delicate translucency, beauty and smooth texture. Due to its sumptuary nature, its use was restricted to the imperial sphere and the highest echelons of society, in both ceremonial and secular contexts. In funerary rituals, even complete costumes made of jade, reserved exclusively for high-ranking individuals, have been found.
