Stone seal “Two Toads”, Qing dynasty

Carved hard stone seal, brownish in color with greenish undertones. It has a wide square base, decorated with a border of waves and incised clouds. In the upper part there are two toads, a large one and a small one next to the corner. Both, meticulously carved, are shown crouching, with their front legs extended and looking straight ahead. The body, covered with incised details, faithfully represents the natural texture of the amphibian.
