Tibetan polychrome wooden box, 19th-20th century

A small wooden box with an iron lock. Decorated with a beautiful red background on which decorative stripes of alternating flowers and characters are arranged, framing a gentle-looking mythical beast holding in its jaws a long ribbon with knotted scrolls.
