Carved jade figure ‘Monkey Man’, Liangzhu culture

Reddish jade carved figure representing a highly stylised anthropomorphic figure or ‘monkey-person’. The piece, which is round and polished, schematically defines the head, torso, breasts and limbs. It has three large holes for possible use as a pendant.
