Description.

Oil on canvas. Religious theme and colonial Baroque style. Exaltation of the Eucharist and the Sacred Heart of Jesus flanked by Saint Ignatius of Loyola and Saint Francis Xavier. The central composition, markedly symmetrical and mystical, is dominated by a large, gilded monstrance of detailed metalwork, crowned and surmounted by the Sacred Heart of Jesus surrounded by radiant bursts of light. On either side of the monstrance are the busts of two key saints of the Society of Jesus: on the left, Saint Ignatius of Loyola, recognizable by his features, baldness, and ecstatic gaze directed toward the sacrament, with a scroll nearby partially reading the inscription "VIVA JESUS" (Long Live Jesus); on the right, Saint Francis Xavier, with a short beard, holding a crucifix and displaying his chest ablaze with a burning heart of apostolic zeal.

The sacred scene is surrounded and enveloped by a glory of small cherubs, or winged angel heads, floating among clouds and illuminated by the mystical radiance of the Eucharist. The entire scene is framed within a sumptuous perimeter garland of flowers and fruits, where bunches of ripe grapes and intricately detailed roses stand out—elements that directly symbolize the wine of sacrifice and divine purity. The color palette combines the solemnity of the dark vestments and the shadowy background with the vibrant golden luminosity of the monstrance and the red and pinkish tones of the botanical motifs.
