Description.

A polychrome bisque figurine of a child in pastel tones, in a tender, realistic style typical of the late 19th century. The piece depicts a baby with sweet features and rosy cheeks, sitting on the floor in a dynamic and informal pose, supported by its left foot, which is adorned with a small, askew violet sock or bootie. The figure wears a loose-fitting, pale yellow nightgown with realistic folds, finished at the neck with a discreet bluish ruffle and decorated on the right shoulder with a pink bow. The modeling of the figure is notable for the detailed anatomical treatment of the child's limbs, the textures of the textured blond hair, and the expressiveness of the clear, glazed eyes. The inscription "2" is on the base. Some fingers are missing from the left hand.
