Description.
Oil on panel. A genre composition with historicist inspiration depicting four male figures dressed as swordsmen in a tavern or outdoor courtyard. The artist executes the work with fine, agile brushstrokes and great precision in the small details, a technique influenced by Fortuny’s Preciosismo style. The light falls directly on the sandy floor of the courtyard and the rich textures of the costumes, contrasting sharply with the shadows at the back of the portico. Signed in the lower right corner of the work.
