Description.
Oil on canvas in an oval format. A portrait of a child dressed in deep mourning, holding a pink rose, set against a sombre backdrop with subdued, directional lighting that highlights the pallor of his face and hands. The reverse of the portrait has paint stains; tracing paper protects the canvas.
