Description.
The vase is richly decorated with gilded or chiseled bronze trim. This includes the stylized side handles shaped like plant scrolls, the leaf-motif molding that connects the body to the foot, and a square pedestal with architectural-style feet. The central element is a cartouche or oval framing a hand-painted classical romantic or mythological scene. It depicts a female figure surrounded by putti or cherubs in a bucolic landscape. One of the scenes is signed “E. Collot.”
Size: 49 x 18 cm
