Description.

Lithograph on paper by the renowned artist Abel Pann (1883–1963). The work illustrates a passage from biblical iconography characteristic of the artist, depicting the poignant encounter between Jacob and Rachel. The figures, dressed in Orientalist-inspired garments and traditional headdresses, embrace warmly; Jacob holds a shepherd's staff as he kisses Rachel on the cheek, who displays a serene and moved expression. The scene is notable for its use of warm, golden tones in the background, evoking the desert sky at sunset, contrasting with the meticulous rendering of the faces and clothing in earthy and greenish hues. Signed in the plate in the lower right corner "Abel Pann," and numbered in pencil as a limited edition "223/1000" on the left.
