Description.
An oval-shaped amulet with a gently convex outline, carved from natural agate in shades of brown, jet black and cream, with a transverse hole for hanging. It makes organic use of the mineral’s concentric layering to form a ‘celestial eye’ in the centre. Liao Dynasty (916–1125).
