Description.

An articulated structure of metal chains supporting various elements. The central element is a cylinder of red agate carved in openwork relief, featuring a motif of birds amongst flowers, framed by two metal finials decorated with filigree. The ensemble is completed by a white jade ring, carved with a twisted pattern, and elongated beads shaped like bamboo stems. Liao Dynasty (916–1125) or later.
