Description.
A amulet with a sturdy cylindrical body, carved from reddish-brown agate. The piece is sculpted in the shape of a reclining buffalo, featuring an expressive head with an incised muzzle, large horns and folded legs rendered in bas-relief. It has a longitudinal hole for suspension and shows a patina resulting from ageing. Han Dynasty (202 BC–220 AD) or later.
