Agate bead necklace, Liao dynasty

Crafted from natural agate in an exceptional shade of emerald green and turquoise, with translucent areas and a patina resulting from its age. The set comprises a large central pendant and six smaller beads strung on a black silk cord. The central pendant (龟甲天珠) is oval and flattened in shape, featuring extraordinary banding. The necklace includes four beads in the shape of small jugs, and two spindle-shaped beads. Liao Dynasty (916–1125) or later.
