Description.
A bead whose uniqueness lies in its volumetric carving, which forms the stylised silhouette of the ‘Eye of Buddha’. Carved from dark agate with ochre and reddish hues at the edges and natural mineral stratification featuring sinuous white lines. This organic and symbolic design served as a high-ranking amulet. Liao Dynasty (916–1125) or later.
