Description.
Elongated tubular Dzi bead (གཟི།) with a dark brown background decorated with a white pattern. The decoration, in white or ochre, combines circular ‘nine eyes’ with a geometric motif of intertwined stepped lines, all outlined with fine silver inlays set with great skill. It shows patina due to ageing. Tang Dynasty (618-906).
