Agate Dzi bead “Four Eyes, Heaven and Earth,” Liao Dynasty

Agate carved in the shape of a Dzi bead, with a spindle-shaped form and an elongated body. It features a complex geometric decoration that combines the “four eyes” motif and the “heaven and earth” pattern, represented by quadrangular shapes and vertical bands. The ivory-toned design contrasts with the dark background. Liao Dynasty (916–1125) or later.
