Description.
An agate that creates a contrast between the ivory-coloured background and the designs in a translucent brown hue. The piece has a spindle-shaped form, featuring on one side the silhouette of a bat with outstretched wings, and on the other, a stylised symbol of longevity. It shows patina due to ageing. Tang Dynasty (618–907) or later.
