Description.
A finely carved rectangular agate plaque with gently rounded edges and a circular perforation at the top for use as a pendant. One side features an exquisite relief of a sage beneath a plum blossom tree, alongside a prominently antlered deer, rock formations, and stylized branches, delicately framing the scene. The other side features a more subtle engraving of the same motif, highlighting the natural veins of the stone, which range from translucent to caramel, artistically utilized to highlight the elements of the composition. The piece exhibits great artistry in both the relief carving and the colour utilization of the material. Qing Dynasty (1644-1912) or later.
