Description.
Seal made in ‘nán hóng’ agate (南红), with a hilt carved in the shape of a resting mandarin duck, symbol of fidelity and marital harmony. The stone has a delicate translucent pink colour, with natural gradations and areas of increased transparency, enhancing the quality of the material. The rectangular base is finely polished and the inscription ‘丛云’ is found at the bottom. Qing dynasty (1644-1912) or later.
