Description.
A ritual Dzi bead, crafted from ivory-coloured agate with dark chestnut and brown motifs. It has a spindle-shaped form with a longitudinal perforation. The body features ‘two eyes’ (eryan), framed by annular bands at either end. In Buddhist tradition, this motif symbolises harmony, the balance between opposites and wisdom. Tang Dynasty (618–907) or later.
