Alice Aycock (1946) “The jellyfish and the teacup”, 2003
Press 'Program an autobid'in order to confirm
Printed on paper. The work presents an architectural and surreal composition characteristic of her utopian diagrams, set against a background of intense purple and violet hues. In the foreground, the white silhouette of a classical or industrial-style structure stands out, featuring arches at its base and a gabled roof, the openings of which display subtle violet gradations. Superimposed on this geometric order, an organic and dynamic whirlwind erupts, composed of a tangle of intertwined lines that emulate the tentacles of a jellyfish, which emerges poetically from a small teacup and saucer located in the lower center. Signed in pencil by the artist in the lower right corner, "Alice Aycock," dated "2003," titled to its left, and numbered as a limited edition "61/75" in the lower left corner. This work belongs to an edition of 75 copies plus 8 artist's proofs.
