Description.
White nephrite jade with greyish tones and subtle natural oxidation patina. The piece is shaped like a rectangular seal, crowned by a round carving depicting a bird and a mythical beast perched on its tail, biting one of its wings. The figure is meticulously carved, defining the bird's detailed plumage and the beast's powerful musculature. The base of the seal is engraved with calligraphic characters in a sigillary style. It comes with a custom-made presentation box. Qing dynasty (1644–1911).
