Description.
White jade with subtle areas of ochre toning. It has a rectangular base, crowned by a phoenix. It stands upright, with its head raised and beak slightly open, displaying a prominent crest and slender neck. The plumage of the wings and tail is detailed with fine incised lines that denote great technical mastery in carving. It has incised characters in seal style for functional use. With a pedestal and a custom-made box lined with traditional fabrics. Qing dynasty (1644–1911).
