Attributed to Simone Barabino (1585-1629) “The Virgin with Jesus and Saint John”

Oil on canvas. Devotional piece attributed to the Genoese Baroque master Simone Barabino. The pyramidal composition places the Virgin Mary at the center, dressed in finery, her serene gaze directed toward the infants. The Baby Jesus, depicted with naturalistic features and pearly skin tones, affectionately embraces Saint John, accompanied by the mystical lamb at his feet. The work underwent a rigorous restoration process in 2009 by Julie de Robillard.
