Description.
A porcelain tea cup with lid, with an inverted truncated cone-shaped body with slightly curved walls and a ring-shaped base reinforced with a silver leaf, as is the upper rim. The lid, also ornamented and topped with a porcelain ring, covered in silver, fits snugly into the mouth of the cup. The surface is decorated with enamels of the pink family on a white background, with five symmetrically arranged medallions, each composed of a harmonious arrangement of auspicious flowers such as peonies, chrysanthemums and lotuses. The spaces in between are filled with floral scrolls and stylised flowers. At the base is a seal in underglaze blue with the inscription ‘大清雍正年制’. Qing dynasty (1644-1912) or later.
