Description.
Carved agate, deep black in colour. Depicts a fish with a dynamic, curved body in the shape of an arch. It is decorated on both sides with archaic spirals, scrolls and fine incisions adorning the fins. Shows traces of reddish sealing wax and natural patina due to ageing. Eastern Zhou Dynasty (770–256 BC) or later.
