Description.
Natural agate, with beautiful bands of ochre, brown and jet-black hues. The sculpture depicts the head of a ram, with a serene expression and large, twisted horns. It is adorned with incised details that define the animal’s form and decorate it with scrollwork and geometric patterns. Eastern Zhou Dynasty (771–256 BC) or later.
