Description.
Porcelain figure, glazed in cobalt blue underglaze, depicting a Foo lion or “imperial guardian lion” in a vigilant pose, sitting on its hind legs on a circular base, with its head and tail raised. The body is modelled with details such as the mane and claws. The base bears the inscription “大明宣德年制” and old collector's labels.
