Blue and white porcelain vase ‘Bogu’, Qing dynasty

Porcelain vase shaped like a trumpet, with a cylindrical body and an everted mouth. Its surface is entirely decorated in cobalt blue with branches and flowers. Against this background are four medallions in reserve of various shapes, adorned with arrangements (Bogu), which include scholarly objects such as incense burners, books and vases. In the centre of the base, inside a double circle, there is an artemisia leaf.
