‘Boyd of Kilmarnock’ porcelain plate, 19th–20th century

Glazed, polychrome and gilded porcelain, in the shape of a circular plate. The centre features the coat of arms of the Scottish Boyd family of Kilmarnock, surmounted by a crown and a thistle-shaped crest, surrounded by friezes in shades of pink and yellow. The rim features a continuous border of gilded scrolls from which hang bunches of flowers and fruit. With maker’s mark on the base.
