Description.
A ceremonial bracelet comprising eight cylindrical Dzi beads made of agate in shades of vermilion, ochre, honey and cream. They make masterful use of the mineral’s natural layering to showcase sinuous bands and ‘eyes’, which are highly characteristic of protective talismans. Liao Dynasty (916–1125) or later.
